eFuels, Power to Liquids (PtL) and Hydrogen for SAF

All course times are listed in Central European Time

The importance of sustainability in aviation has grown over the past decade as the industry strives to achieve ambitious decarbonisation goals. New regulations, technologies and innovations will all contribute to the greening of the skies, but the solution seen as the most impactful is Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF).

This course will uncover the latest developments, pathways, policies and techno-economic analyses driving the adoption and growth of SAF produced from eFuels and Power to Liquids (PtL) processes. It will also cover the scalability and timelines for the widespread use and adoption of these processes and their exciting current and future prospects.

The Masterclass is suitable for aviation and non-aviation industry professionals alike, and for industry stakeholders seeking to gain a better understanding of an opportunity that is set for enormous growth over the coming decades.

Key course features include:

  • Access to six hours of training and course materials taking place over two days

  • Gain access to insights, knowhow and knowledge of an expert on eFuels

  • Interactive modules where questions can be asked directly to the trainer during the course

  • End of session Q&A each day with the trainer for additional questions you might have

  • All presentation materials and recordings of every session provided for future reference (and in case you have to step away)

  • Course Certificate of Attendance

Meet the trainer

Dr. Valentin Batteiger

Strategic Research Coordinator - Future Aviation Fuels

Bauhaus Luftfahrt e.V.

Valentin coordinates the research on future aviation fuels at Bauhaus Luftfahrt, a think tank with a long-term focus on future mobility and future air travel. His current research interest is in various alternative fuel pathways that potentially enable large-scale renewable fuel supply for aviation.

He co-authored an expert background paper on the perspective of power-to-liquid pathways for aviation (‘Power-to-Liquids: A scalable and sustainable fuel supply perspective for aviation’).

Valentin represents Bauhaus Luftfahrt in the aireg initiative (aireg – Aviation Initiative for Renewable Energy in Germany e.V.) and serves in the Technical Advisory Board of the Aviation Climate Taskforce.

Valentin has been involved in the first solar-thermochemical synthesis of kerosene within the EU. On the biofuel side, he coordinates the EU project CIRCULAIR that develops technologies to convert agricultural residues into jet fuel via a coupled advanced biofuel and power-to-liquid pathway.
